Infinix has just expanded its Note 50 lineup with a rather unique addition: the Infinix Note 50s 5G+, a mid-range device that not only brings solid specs—but also smells good. Yes, really. This new model features a scent-infused back panel, making it one of the most unusual smartphones on the market right now.
Positioned on the affordable side of the midrange spectrum, the Note 50s 5G+ is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset and sports a dual-camera setup.
Up front, it boasts a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution, a smooth 144Hz refresh rate, and 1,300 nits peak brightness. It’s protected by slightly curved Gorilla Glass 5, adding a premium touch.
The camera module adopts the Note 50 series’ signature elongated octagonal design, featuring a 64MP Sony IMX682 main sensor and a 2MP secondary lens. You also get a dual-LED flash and Active Halo Lighting, which supports multiple lighting modes, including notifications.
But what truly sets this phone apart is its “Energizing Scent-Tech.” Exclusive to the Marine Drift Blue variant with a vegan leather back, this feature infuses fragrance into the panel using microencapsulation tech. The scent slowly releases over time and blends marine and lemon top notes, lily of the valley heart notes, and amber and vetiver base notes. While Infinix hasn’t specified how long the aroma lasts, its longevity is said to depend on usage and environmental conditions.
The Note 50s 5G+ runs Android 15 with XOS 15, and packs a 5,500 mAh battery supporting 45W fast charging (with the adapter included) and 10W reverse wired charging. It also features bypass charging, ideal for gaming or extended use.
The “5G+” in the name signals mmWave support, promising faster speeds and greater bandwidth—but with more limited coverage. This will primarily benefit users in tech-forward urban areas across select Indian cities.
The phone is available in Marine Drift Blue, Titanium Gray, and Burgundy Red. Pricing starts at ($190/€165) for the 8GB + 128GB model, and ($210/€185) for the 8GB + 256GB version.
