Leaked Renders of Moto G86 Reveal Unexpected Design Changes

The Moto G85 made its debut in June last year, so it’s no surprise that its successor is on the horizon. Back in March, pricing details for the Moto G86 surfaced, and now, the first leaked renders have appeared online.

What stands out immediately is the design—it’s strikingly similar to Motorola’s Edge series. It seems Motorola is aligning the design language of its Edge upper-midrange and flagship models with the G-series mid-rangers, at least in this case. The camera island, in particular, bears a strong resemblance to that of the Edge 60 Fusion.

Another intriguing detail is the back panel material. According to the leak source, it’s described as “a mix of felt and textile,” offering a unique texture. The G86 will reportedly be available in at least two colors: purple and dark blue. The latter features a more conventional faux leather finish.

The phone sports a flat display with slim bezels—though the top and bottom are slightly thicker than the sides. On the rear, the primary camera is a 50MP shooter with an unspecified Sony Lytia sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS). The device also boasts Dolby Atmos support for enhanced audio.

While there’s no official launch date yet, the Moto G86 is expected to be priced at €330 in the Eurozone, offering 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
